Plan for the unexpected – join the Priority Services Register and create an In Case of Emergency plan

Surrey Prepared

Emergencies are rare but Surrey Prepared is encouraging residents to take a few simple, practical steps to plan for unexpected events such as power outages, severe weather, flooding or other local disruptions. By creating an In Case of Emergency plan and joining the Priority Services Register (PSR)—a free service that helps utility companies provide extra support to those who may need it – residents can feel more confident that they are ready for the unexpected.

Are you eligible for the PSR?
The PSR is a free and confidential service offered by utility companies to ensure people who may need extra help are supported during power cuts, gas or water supply interruptions, and other service disruptions.

Join the PSR
Check if you’re eligible and register on the PSR website or call your regional gas or electricity distributor:

Planning Enforcement
The Parish have seen numerous sites being developed without the relevant planning permission over the past few months or even years and recognise that this is most disturbing for the immediate neighbours and of course the local wildlife! Of course, we are not alone and many local villages in Mole Valley are dealing with the same planning issues. In the first instance please do report it via the Mole Valley Website portal providing as much detail as possible with supporting photos/evidence. This will keep all planning breaches centralised and you will receive a confirmation email with appropriate reference number whilst it is being investigated further.

Parish Council Matters
Please do check our website as local news and information is added on a regular basis which may be relevant to residents of the village. All are welcome to attend our Parish Council meetings and dates and times will be advertised on our website.

The Councillors can be contacted by emailing the clerk: clerk@newdigateparishcouncil.gov.uk but please do remember that request to add items for discussion on the agenda need to be received at least 7 days in advance.
