Annual Parish Meeting
At the Annual Parish Meeting, councillors gathered to elect the Chair and Vice Chair for the upcoming year. Following a vote, Phill Crutcher was elected as Chair, with Bill Kear appointed as Vice Chair of the Full Parish Council. The council extended heartfelt thanks to William Harmsworth for his outstanding service, dedication, and leadership during his three-year tenure as Chair.

Speed Watch
A team of volunteers continue their efforts on a weekly basis; please show them your support if you see them out and about.   The results from the recent Speed Data boxes installed on Broad Lane, Parkgate Road and Kingsland have been received, which makes interesting but disappointing reading:
Broad Lane – vehicles travelling above the speed limit of 40mph was recorded at 60.4%
Parkgate Road – vehicles travelling above the speed limit of 40mph was recorded at 32.9%
Kingsland – vehicles travelling above the speed limit of 30mph was noted as 92.9%

Join Us at Village Day!
The Parish Council will be teaming up with Surrey Wildlife Trust at this year’s Village Day on Sunday, 20th July. It’s a great chance to meet your local councillors, learn about local wildlife initiatives, and enjoy a fun day out—so do come along and say hello!

British Masters Cycle Race
This event will be held on Sunday 22nd June 2025 starting from Newdigate Village Hall and then follow the Norwood Hill circuit with races starting at 10am.
