Our next Full Parish Council meeting will be held on Monday 10th February starting at 7.30pm in the village hall. All our Parish Council meeting dates can be found on our website www.newdigateparishcouncil.gov.uk and on both noticeboards located in the village.
Parish Council – Council Tax
The Parish Council Precept figure was submitted to Mole Valley District Council on 13th January 2025. This represents the figure that forms part of the Council Tax paid by properties within the Parish. In the previous two years, councillors have not requested any increase to this figure. During discussions at the January Finance Committee meeting, it was agreed that a 5% increase would be applied for the budget period 2025 – 2026. This would cover any increases in running costs and to assist the Parish Council to support future grants in the local community. This represents an amount of £20.12 p.a. for all properties in Band D. Further information can be found on the Mole Valley District Council website.
Mole Valley District Council (MVDC)
“Where I live” is a service accessed through the home page on MVDC website www.molevalley.gov.uk. If you select the “Where I live” link you will be invited to choose an address. A range of information will be displayed for your chosen address i.e.. waste collection, contact details for your local Councillors and planning information relevant to the property you have selected. This system gives you the option to receive a weekly reminder email as well as an option to keep you informed about new planning applications located within 50m/100m/500m of your property. This is the easiest way to keep abreast of potential development as the criteria for notifying neighbours only extends to properties on land adjacent to any proposed development.
Surrey County Council – Surrey Says
This site contains consultations run by Surrey County council – www.surreysays.co.uk. Consultations currently underway include an invitation to comment on a draft SCC Rights of Way Improvements Plan and an invitation to express your views on SCC’s Draft Budget.
