Surrey Highways & Verges
Residents have raised concerns regarding hedgerows and verges that are overgrowing onto the highway obstructing sight lines and resulting in cars being scratched along the narrow lanes and along the Surrey cycleway. Highway verges are the responsibility of Surrey County Council. If it is a residential property, it is the owner’s responsibility to cut back the hedges if they are overhanging a highway, and if this is not being done, it can be reported as a road safety issue, Surrey County Council will then send a letter to the owner asking them to do so. Allotments
The Parish Council manage eight allotment plots in the village (some have been sub-divided to give more residents the opportunity to become tenants, as the plots are reasonably large. In December, we have been advised that two more plots will become available for tenancy so please email the clerk if you would like to add your name to the waiting list.
