August 2024 Newsletter

August 2024

Our next meeting Full Parish Council meeting will be held on Monday 9th September at 8pm in the village hall. Please note that we do not hold meetings in the month of August.

Bonfires
Please consider your neighbours. The fine weather is imminent so please be considerate of others when burning garden waste, avoiding where possible fine sunny weekends, during the day when neighbours are more likely to be enjoying their own gardens. If you must burn garden waste, ensure you check for any wildlife taking refuge. Remember you must not burn household rubbish. For more information visit www.gov.uk/garden-bonfires-rules.

Rights of Way/Footpaths
Surrey has almost 3482 kilometres (2164 miles) of footpaths bridleways, and byways. Surrey County Council are responsible for the management and maintenance of this network, and for the Definitive Map that is a legal record of the position and status of Rights of Way. You can view which paths will be cut when you log into report a fault and look at our reporting map. A path that is due to be cut will be indicated by yellow triangles along the length of that path. Please ensure that the location is accurately plotted on the map, and provide as much information as possible.

We do ask that properties do try to keep their hedges trimmed back when they become overgrown and impede on the narrow footpaths through the village.

Allotments
The Parish Council manage eight allotment plots in the village (some have been sub-divided to give more residents the opportunity to become tenants, as the plots are reasonably large). In December, we have been advised that two more plots will become available for tenancy so please email the clerk if you would like to add your name to the waiting list.

Parish Council Matters
Please do check our website and Facebook page for local news and information updates. Our meetings are open to members of the public and we encourage residents to attend. If you wish to raise any topics please email the clerk and these can then be added to our Agenda for discussion at our Full Parish Council meeting.
Finally, the Councillors and Clerk wish you all a peaceful and happy summer!
